ELDOA is a French acronym, translated into English as “Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching.” ELDOA was developed by Guy Voyer DO over 30 years ago, and has helped thousands of people around the world with the management of back and joint pain, spinal dysfunction and postural issues.
This two-day course is the first level of the newly organized five level ELDOA Program. The course will introduce the foundational principles of ELDOA and the 4 classic ELDOA postures, developed by Guy Voyer DO, for personal and professional application.
• The history of the ELDOA – how VOYER organized the material
• VOYER’s Educational Paradigm – Complexity and “Learn By Doing”
• What is a Spine? – Mobility vs. Stability, Origins of the Spine, General Anatomy and Biomechanics of the Spinal Segments
• The Philosophy of the ELDOA – “You Are Your Own Best Therapist”
Practical application of the 4 classic ELDOA postures will be done at length – this is a “Learn By Doing” course! As well, there will be a movement section to explore the fundamentals of fascial tension and ELDOA group exercise class to experience the benefits of ELDOA first hand.
The ELDOA Level 1 Course is for EVERYONE – Trainers, coaches, therapists, Pilates instructors, Yoga instructors, athletes, even clients! The Level 1 Course is designed for both the student and practitioner with minimal or NO formal training in anatomy and biomechanics of the spine.
